I have spent approximately four months at Unison Martial arts. I trained Thai boxing there. I trained for self development. Through training you can set and acheive goals allowing you to find out more about yourself through a physical and combat manner. I was curious of Unison as I knew Ferdie prior and found he is a really nice guy.

The obvious benefits were an increase in fitness, but i made a lot of friends too. Unison Martial arts could be beneficial for a lot of people, depending on your goals. Whether you're training for self defence, fitness, competition, personal goals, weight loss, love of martial arts or to increase skill, all are acheivable there whilst forming friendships along the way.

1. How long have you been training Martial Arts?

Will be one year this March 2013.

2. What style of Martial arts do you primarily train at unison martial arts?

I started with Brazilian jiu jitsu (which I am competing at now) but have been focusing on improving my Muay Thai over the last few months too.

3. Why do you train and what attracted you to Unison Martial Arts?

I train because it makes me a happier person, I feel great when I step into the gym and that feeling stays with you in your day-to-day life as well. The atmosphere at unison is fantastic, you couldn't ask for better training partners.

4. What benefits have you received from your martial arts training at unison?

There is the obvious ones like improved fitness and improving your technique and the not so obvious ones like increased confidence, meeting new people, sleeping better and stressing less.

5. Do you believe that the training at Unison Martial arts is something everybody could benefit from?

Absolutely, the classes are structured so that you can do as much work as you are capable of. If it wasn't for that attitude in the gym I don't think many of us would have stuck it out in the beginning. On the other hand, If you don't get a good workout in during class, its probably because you didn't want one!

I have been training Martial Arts for nearly two years now. I am currently training in Muay Thai at Unison Martial Arts North Rockhampton.

I came to Unison when it first opened because I had previously trained with the instructor and I knew that he is very good at what he does, and that in every lesson you are always made feel welcome no matter what your level of training is. Also I have never taken the same class twice there is always something new to learn. I love doing Muay Thai because it is not only the best workout ever but it is a very interesting sport to learn. You push your body and your mind to its limits every lesson.

I always leave a class at Unison feeling that I can take on anything!!! I am a middle aged working mother of three and just taking a few classes a week makes me feel strong, fit and in control. If I can do this then anyone can!! and Unison would have to be the best place to do it.

Thank you for teaching all of us kids!! I just can't wait until we get our first stripe and get graded in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It is so much fun and it is getting me more fit!
